A Brick Township man is accused of using a residential home to distribute marijuana and psilocybin, the psychoactive substance best known for being found in “magic” mushrooms.

James Giordano, 37, of Brick, utilized a residence on Hammock Road to support his illicit business, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said Wednesday. On Feb. 11, 2025, officers from the Brick Township Police Department Special Emergency Response Team executed a court-authorized search warrant on the home, seizing approximately 18 pounds of marijuana, three and one-half pounds of hashish/THC oil, 14 ounces of THC edibles, 12 ounces of psilocybin, and $62,000 in cash. Additionally, detectives seized approximately $279,000 from Giordano’s bank accounts, pursuant to a court order.

Giordano was taken into custody at the residence without incident.
