‘Coral’ The Baby Giraffe Meets The Herd, Makes Friends at Great Adventure; Another Calf Born

The staff at Six Flags Great Adventure’s Wild Safari park in Jackson has given us an update on Coral, the juvenile giraffe born late last year that has been gaining her footing in a private area near the park. Just in time for the spring weather, the staff said this week that Coral has joined the park’s herd of giraffes and has been mingling with her new family.

Coral, born Dec. 15, 2024, has been successfully reunited with her family at Wild Safari, the park said. After spending some time in a giraffe barn for care and recovery, Coral is now back with her parents, Conan and Mariah, and the rest of the herd.

“Coral is thriving, and her brother, Pringles, is especially overjoyed to have her back in the fold!” the announcement said.

Though Coral faced some early challenges, including difficulty standing, she has shown “incredible strength and determination” thanks to the diligent care of the Wild Safari team. At just over three months old, she is growing rapidly and adapting well to her herd’s dynamic, the staff said.

The park also announced this week that Coral will have the opportunity to play slightly-older-sister to another future member of the herd. The yet-to-be named baby boy giraffe is doing well after being safely delivered over the weekend, according to park officials.

Guests will be able to see Coral and the rest of the giraffes when they visit starting opening day, which is set for March 29.
