A jury in Ocean County on Wednesday returned a guilty verdict against a man accused of attacking a nurse at a rehabilitation facility while he was a patient there.
David Taber, 67, of Berkeley Township, was found guilty of criminal sexual contact in connection with the March 22, 2023 incident at the Crystal Lake Rehabilitation Center in Bayville. According to prosecutors, while the victim was attempting to administer medication to Taber, he touched her breast without her consent, placed her in a bear-hug, and attempted to pull down her pants. A co-worker then intervened and separated the two.
Berkeley Township police officers were called to the scene, where Taber was arrested. The case extended to an almost week-long jury trial, which ended with the jury rendering a guilty verdict.
