A convicted sex offender from Toms River is facing a charge of failing to register in compliance with Megan’s Law, prosecutors announced over the weekend.
Keith Hadden, 36, of Toms River, was charged with two counts of failing to register after being arrested by the Seaside Heights Police Department.
An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Megan’s Law Squad revealed that Hadden moved from his registered address in Toms River to Seaside Heights without registering or notifying any law enforcement agencies, which he was legally obligated to under Megan’s Law, according to a statement. Further investigation uncovered that Hadden had been terminated from his registered place of employment without notifying any law enforcement agencies, also in violation of Megan’s Law.

On March 7, 2025, Hadden was taken into custody by the Seaside Heights Police Department without incident. Hadden was transported to the Ocean County Jail, where he is presently lodged pending a detention hearing. The nature of Hadden’s original conviction was not available in a state database; he was no longer listed as an inmate at the Ocean County Jail as of Sunday night.
