Police: Brick Resident Smashed Victim’s Head on Ground, Broke Items

A Brick man is facing charges of assault, criminal mischief and drug possession following an incident in Belmar Monday morning.

Michael A. Cusanelli, 25, of Greenwood Loop Road, was arrested in Belmar is accused of banging an unidentified victim’s head on the ground during a dispute at about 9 a.m., according to court records. The victim suffered a head abrasion. During the same altercation, Cusanelli is accused of breaking a mini guitar and two glass bottles, as well as kicking a door into a wall causing a large hole.

Cusanelli was additionally charged with possessing eight prescription pills without a valid prescription.

Bail for the three offenses was set at a total of $5,500. Cusanelli was being housed in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Freehold, in default of bail.
