Less than a week after authorities say a man committed suicide by shooting himself at the Shore Shot Pistol Range in Lakewood, another man has apparently attempted to take his own life there.

Lakewood police were called to Shore Shot at about 6 p.m. Friday night for a man who suffered a gunshot wound. When they arrived, they found a 36-year-old man, who has not been identified by name, with a gunshot wound to his head, according to a statement from police.

The man was unresponsive but still breathing when officers arrived, the statement said. Emergency medical personnel performed life saving measures before the man was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was later placed on life support, police said.
