Heavy Traffic Expected Along Barrier Island This Weekend, Brick Police Warn

If you’re a resident of the township’s barrier island portion – or planning on heading to the beach – be prepared for heavy traffic this weekend.

Brick police warned Friday that numerous large events coupled with the restart of construction on Route 35 this week will lead to delays this weekend.

“Please add extra travel time if you are heading out to the barrier island or consider alternate routes,” Brick police said in a statement.

Events planned for this weekend include the Lavallette Founders Day celebration, Island Beach State Park Beach Plum Festival and the Insane Inflatable 5K Run being held in Seaside Park.
