Brick Township will activate an emergency call center at 6 a.m. Tuesday to assist residents with issues related to the impending blizzard. The hotline connecting to the call center should be used for non-emergency purposes, officials said.

Residents can call 732-262-1234 for assistance.

Additionally, Brick police were urging residents to move cars off the streets, as leaving vehicles in the street can be an impediment to plows.

“During the storm of 2010, the number of vehicles left in the road proved to be a significant factor in hampering efforts to get streets clear,” Sgt. Henry Drew said.

Under the state of emergency issued by Gov. Chris Christie on Monday, vehicles left abandoned or disabled on streets can be removed by any state, county or municipal law enforcement agency. The order was effective at 2 p.m. Monday and lasts until 2 p.m. Tuesday.
