The Brick Township council will discuss numerous issues at its meeting Tuesday night, including a new ordinance that will regulate LED signs at township businesses.

The proposed ordinance, which will be up for an introductory vote, prohibits signs from including “flashing, blinking or series light,” or any rotating objects or moving parts, except for gas station signs which display fuel prices, or signs elsewhere that display time and temperature.

The council will also consider a measure that will allow the administration to negotiate contracts for a beer and wine concession at Summerfest, Bricktoberfest and other township events this year, as well as certain Summerfest food concession categories. The council has had some issues with the bids for Summerfest vendors this year. In 2014, the township made the decision to put Summerfest food concessions out to bid (the concessions were previously run primarily by township nonprofit organizations as a fundraiser) and add the beer and wine garden.
