Brick schools Superintendent Walter Uszenski and Director of Special Services Andrew Morgan have both been arrested and taken into police custody.
Both men are charged with two counts of official misconduct and theft by deception. Morgan is currently in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, Uszenski had been in the jail at at least one point today but is no longer listed as being there.
The details on the alleged crimes of the two men have not yet been divulged by prosecutors. It is not known whether any other school officials have been charged, though a source said at least one more will face charges.
Both men are charged with violating state statute 2C:20-4A, which reads a person is guilty if he: “Creates or reinforces a false impression, including false impressions as to law, value, intention or other state of mind…”
