A benefit beach party featuring local restaurants, breweries and wineries to support paws4vets, an organization that matches returning veterans with service dogs, will be held Sunday at Chef Mike’s ABG, 24th Ave. and Central Ave. in South Seaside Park (near the entrance to Island Beach State Park).
The beach party will be held from 12 noon to 4 p.m., and will be held to support local U.S. Army veteran Adam Campbell’s effort to “pay it forward” after he received a service dog two years ago. Read Adam’s story here, including an interview.
The beach party will include numerous local restaurants serving spectacular food, plus beer and wine from New Jersey breweries and wineries. Restaurants serving food include Chef Mike’s ABG, Joe Leone’s, Brandl, Poached Pear Bistro and Drew’s Bayshore Bistro. There will also be a gift auction and activities for children, plus appearances by the service dogs and representatives from paws4vets.

The cost is $50 for adults and $20 for children. All the proceeds will support paws4vets. Mike Jurusz, owner of Chef Mike’s ABG, said he hopes to raise between $50,000 and $100,000 for paws4vets.
Tickets for the benefit can be purchased online or at the door. The restaurant is located at 24th and Central avenues, South Seaside Park, just outside the entrance to Island Beach State Park.
