With foul weather forecast to hold off until the afternoon or evening hours, township officials are looking forward to a big start for this year’s Farmers Market at Windward Beach Park.

This will be the second year for the Farmers Market, which was introduced by Mayor John Ducey’s administration last spring and well-received by residents.

“We’re starting the Farmers Market later in the season, and we’re doing it on purpose,” Ducey said last month, explaining the May 21 start date this year. “Last year, we started off in April and there really weren’t many fresh vegetables or fruits.”
