Complaints from residents led police to conduct an investigation that eventually turned up drugs and weapons, and resulted in three arrests.
The investigation took place in the Evergreen Woods condominium complex, Sgt. Neal Pedersen said. During a court-authorized search of a home on Belinda Court – as well as a Chrysler 200 vehicle – police found a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, oxycodone and a quantity of Promethazine (commonly known as “Lean,” “Sizzurp” or “Purple Drank”) and two hand guns, a 9mm and a 40 cal.
The guns are believed to have been taken from homes during burglaries, Pedersen said.
Jamie Crippen, 22, David Thompson, 21, of Yonkers, N.Y., and Michael Santiago, 22, of the Bronx, N.Y., were all arrested after the search of the home by members of the Brick Township Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit, with assistance of the Howell Township Police Department Crime Suppression Unit.
Crippen was charged with possession of a weapon, two counts of receiving stolen property, three counts of drug possession, and having drugs in a motor vehicle.
Thompson was charged with possession of a weapon, two counts of receiving stolen property and drug possession. Santiago was charged with possession of a weapon, drug possession, two counts of receiving stolen property, possession of drugs in a motor vehicle and driving without a license.
Bail was set by Municipal Court Judge Robert M Lepore at $75,000 cash for all three subjects. All were transported to the Ocean County Jail, police said.
A photo of Thompson was not available.
