Mayor John Ducey has looked out-of-town to find the replacement for longtime Chief Financial Officer Scott Pezarras, who retired earlier this summer.
According to an agenda for a township council meeting set for Tuesday night, Ducey will seek a largely ceremonial “advice and consent” vote from the governing body on his pick: John Clifford, who most recently held the CFO title in Middle Township, Cape May County.
Clifford, a resident of Northfield, Atlantic County, had served in Middle Township since 2014. According to a biography provided by Middle Township, Clifford holds a degree in accounting from Rutgers University, and is a former Senior Support Specialist and Project Manager for Edmunds & Associates, a software development firm. He is a specialist in resolving municipal audit findings by refining policies and procedures and troubleshooting accounting software systems, the biography said.

Clifford will be appointed to the Brick position for four years, according to the meeting agenda. His starting salary was not disclosed in the resolution appointing him to the post.
