The long-awaited project to rebuild Hank Waltonowski Park, also known as Birchwood Park, is one step closer to getting underway.
The Brick Township council this week awarded a $1,228,513 contract to Precise Construction, of Freehold, to complete the work at the park.
The renovation plan calls for the construction of two playgrounds – one for children ages 2-5 and one for children ages 6-12 – plus safety surfacing in play areas, a basketball and volleyball court, a gazebo, and lighting and security cameras.
