A former chain seafood restaurant will be turned into two independently owned eateries in the coming months.
The owner of Tre, an Italian-American bar in Freehold, and Rosalita’s Roadside Cantina, a Mexican restaurant in Englishtown, will open both restaurants in the space of the former Joe’s Crab Shack in Brick Plaza and share the kitchen between them, Mayor John Ducey said.

Ducey said the use of the single building will allow the liquor license to be used between both establishments, which have garnered a popular following in Monmouth County.
Tre’s Freehold location includes a bar filled with craft brews, brick oven pizza and classic Italian dishes, as well as outdoor fire pits. Rosalita’s menu includes fresh salads, giant burritos, tacos, enchiladas, sizzling fajitas and a “famous” margarita selection.
