Police in Brick say a head-on collision between a car and a minivan injured four people, including two who had to be taken to the hospital by medevac helicopter.

The accident, which occurred near the intersection of Hooper Avenue and Tunesbrook Road at 11:08 a.m. Friday, closed the road for several hours. An investigation revealed Danielle Canaley, 37, of Manchester, was driving a 2002 Saturn when she crossed over into the opposite lane and collided with a 2009 Chrysler Town and Country minivan being driven by Vincent Vargas, 47, of Brick.

Canaley’s sole passenger was a two-year-old boy. Vargas’ passenger was a 10-year-old boy, according to police.
