The Brick Municipal Utilities Authority is planning to replace the water main and its connected infrastructure in Breton Woods as it goes out to bid for the project.
The neighborhood known as Breton Woods I is the focus of the project, which includes the following streets:
Cedar Knoll Drive, Locust Court, Mayfair Court, McKay Drive, Oak Court, Barber Avenue, Clubhouse Plaza, Community Drive, Laurel Avenue, Breton Road, Breton Court, Cedarhurst Road, Hickory Road, Holly Road, Metedeconk Road, Pinehurst Road, Stuyvesant Road, Sunset Road, and Unity Drive.
Those roads will see the water main replaced from aging metal pipes to bigger diameter ones, according to the bid specifications released about the project.
The MUA is currently accepting bids on the work, through Dec. 5.
The current 2″ diameter galvanized steel water mains and 3″ diameter cast iron water mains will be replaced with approximately 11,350 lineal feet of 6″ and 8″ PVC pipe, 200 lineal feet of 6″ and 8″ ductile iron pipe, and approximately 248 one-inch polyethylene water service connections with OD controlled bronze service saddles.
The work also includes 248 water meter pits and 19 fire hydrants for the neighborhood.
After the groundwork is complete, the impacted roads and right of ways will be sealed, repaved and the sites restored.
