Residents told Shorebeat there was a marked increase in police activity in the Midstreams section of town Wednesday, just as the department said in a statement that the neighborhood had been hit with a string of vehicle burglaries overnight.
“Unfortunately, the Midstreams area of our township got hit with a slew of car burglaries, and a few of those vehicles were stolen last night,” the department said in a statement. “Our patrolmen and detectives have been out for hours working leads to try and find these criminals.”
Police are now asking for the public’s help in closing the case. If anyone from the neighborhood east of Jordan Road (including Harbor Rd., Hartford Pl., Cedarstream Pl., Shadow Way, Robin Hood Rd., Midwood Dr., Field Pl., Joie Pl., Nicholas Rd., Carrol Fox Rd. and the surrounding area) has cameras that may have caught images of the perpetrators, police are asking residents to review them for suspicious persons and criminal activity. Anyone who finds something noteworthy is asked to contact Detective Sgt. James Burgess at 732-262-1116.

Police advised residents to keep their vehicle doors locked, and to bring their key fobs and other valuables inside when they leave their cars.
