Motorists have been advised by Point Pleasant Borough police to plan an alternate route as the main thoroughfare Bridge Avenue will be closed for repaving during the nighttime hours this week.
Beginning Monday, the roadway will have intermittent closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., police said. The road will be milled and paved as part of a county improvement project. Police did not say exactly how long the paving project would go on.
Additionally, Point Pleasant police said the Route 88 bridge, which carries traffic over the Point Pleasant Canal, will experience temporary closures beginning “on or about” April 1 for planned maintenance. Those closures, likewise, would occur between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Police said additional information on the bridge closure would be forthcoming.
