A food delivery driver wound up in a precarious (and dangerous) situation over the weekend, but escaped with only minor injuries, officials said.
Details regarding the one-car accident on Manor Drive late Saturday night are not fully clear, however authorities said the car apparently struck a utility pole at such an angle that the vehicle went vertical and became propped up against it. The driver fell to the ground but escaped any major injuries. He was taken to Ocean Medical Center for treatment.

Laurelton Fire Compant’s Technical Rescue Team assisted the Pioneer Hose and Breton Woods companies at the scene. According to the Laurelton company’s social media account, the team was able to secure the vehicle using two stabilization struts with the help of a rescue truck.
Afterwards, the team worked with the local and heavy rescue towing companies to lower the vehicle safely. The accident remains under investigation by Brick police.
The Brick Township Technical Rescue team is a joint effort between the four township fire companies and Brick Police EMS.
