One of the Shore’s most popular cover bands will hit the stage at Windward Beach Park this Thursday for the second of four Summerfest celebrations.

Brick’s annual free summer event series is in its 25th year. After a rousing start to kick off July 4 weekend, the second week of Summerfest will continue the series with plenty of popular music and – of course – fireworks.

Formed in the early 1990s, Brian Kirk & The Jirks are one of the only bands in the East Coast circuit who can boast an impressive career spanning over two decades.  Brian Kirk & the Jirks are a premium 9-piece band specializing in interactive, high-energy music, and the band prides itself on packing the dance floor and creating unforgettable events.

A free shuttle bus is available for anyone wishing to attend the concert. There will be two routes for the shuttle buses this year. The first route will pick up and drop off at Veterans Memorial Middle School (Hendrickson Avenue) and Midstreams Elementary School (Midstreams Road).  The second route will pick up and drop off at Brick Township High School (Chambers Bridge Road) and Drum Point Elementary School (Drum Point Road). Shuttle buses will bring people to the park from 5pm – 8pm. Return trips begin at 9pm and will continue until all guests are returned to the shuttle bus locations. Any person under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

As the parking lots at Windward Beach fill up quickly, people are encouraged to use the shuttle buses.

A food court and a beer and wine garden will be available for all SummerFest concerts.

The event will begin Thursday at 7 p.m. at Windward Beach Park on Princeton Avenue.
