Brick officials this week awarded a contract to a marine construction firm that will replace several bulkheads owned by the township.
The township council on Tuesday awarded a $418,800 contract to R. Kremer and Son Marine Contractors, of Brick, to replace the bulkheads, and remove and dispose of existing backfill.
The bulkheads are located at: Lawndale Drive, Brower Drive, South Drive, East Coral Drive and Bayshore Drive.

Officials said four bids were received after packets were mailed to 43 potential contractors. The bids ranged from $1,137,117 to the low bid, which was submitted by R. Kremer.
