Brick Township officials have awarded a contract that will provide for the improvement of several streets in the barrier island portion of the township.

The township council last week approved a $321,013 contract award to Earle Asphalt Company to improve Deauville Drive, Bay Avenue, Squan Beach Drive and Sunset Boulevard.

Mayor John Ducey said the improvements will consist of repaving, plus concrete and drainage improvements. The work will be completed after the summer season.
