Thursday’s high temperature is forecast to be a full 30 degrees lower than that which touched the 70 degree mark Wednesday, but it will still be just warm enough to help the Shore area dodge a snow event.
According to the National Weather Service, Thursday’s high will reach just 36 degrees, but remain above freezing even after sunset. A slight chance of rain between 2-4 p.m. is expected, the forecast said, but otherwise it will be mostly cloudy with slight northeast winds.
Steadier rain will move in Thursday night after 9 p.m., the NWS forecast said, with the overnight low bottoming out at 34 degrees. Winds will remain light through Friday morning, and the rain is forecast to end by about 1 p.m.
The rain is moving a cold front into the region that will bring with it sunny skies, but chillier temperatures and strong winds. Sustained wind speeds will increase to 15-20 m.p.h. Friday afternoon, with gusts as high as 30 m.p.h.

The good news: while it will remain chilly, both Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be completely sunny with highs of 38 and 48 degrees, respectively.
