Wacky Weather: Wintry Mix Could Come Wednesday On Heels of Record Highs

After beginning the week with highs nearly touching the 80-degree mark in some inland communities in Ocean County, winter will return Wednesday with the chance of a wintry mix.

The National Weather Service has not issued any advisories or watches, and there is little to no accumulation expected. The current NWS forecast calls for a chance of rain between 4 a.m. and 11 a.m. Wednesday, then rain and snow between 11 a.m. and 12 noon, followed by a change back to all rain after the noontime hour. The daytime high will reach 40, preventing icy conditions.

A chance of rain will continue Wednesday night, possibly mixing with snow after 9 p.m., then gradually ending. It will otherwise be mostly cloudy, with a low around 31 degrees.

“Little or no snow accumulation expected” during neither the day nor nighttime snow showers.
