Brick officials awarded a contract for the reconstruction of two township streets Tuesday night.

The $335,325 contract was awarded to Z Brothers Concrete Inc., of Sayreville. The company will work on two streets on opposite sides of town: Old Silverton Road, off Drum Point Road, and Lawrence Drive, off Princeton Avenue.

According to Mayor John Ducey, the work will include the construction of a stormwater drainage system, concrete curbing, driveway aprons, curb ramps, full pavement reconstruction and surface restoration.

Ducey said bids were mailed to 76 interested parties, with eight having responded. Z Brothers represented the low bid. The highest received was $550,470. Residents will be notified of the construction timeline by mail after a start date is selected during pre-construction meetings with the township.
