Brick Township’s oceanfront will play host to some very big guests Saturday – and the community is welcome to join the fun either as a spectator or a participant.
The township’s annual Kite Fest event will grow much larger this year, being presented by Sky Festival Productions. The company, which hosts kite-flying events in an array of different locations, will host this year’s festival at Brick Beach III.
Planned festivities include a dazzling display of giant inflatable kites visible for miles, an array of vertical wind feathers and ground displays, kids and adults ‘Running of the Bols’ competition, super-sized giant bubbles, kite sales and a separate public flying field for all.

The event will also feature fun music and kite flyers from all areas of the eastern seaboard flying their most incredible creations.
Kites will be flown from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at Beach III by professionals, and the community is welcome to bring their kites to fly as well. A rain date has been set for Sunday, Sept. 18.
