Brick officials are reminding residents that dog and cat registration is due in the month of January.

All dogs and cats who reside in Brick, aged seven months or older, must be licensed for 2023 during the month of January. A certificate of rabies vaccination must be presented, and must be current through Nov. 2023 for a one-year license or Nov. 2025 for a three-year license. Registration fees are cheaper for pets that have been spayed or neutered, and owners must present a statement from the veterinarian indicating as much to receive the lower fee.

“We are encouraging residents to apply for their animals’ licenses by mail,” a message from the township clerk’s office said.

Residents registering by mail are asked to include the rabies certificate and a stamped, self-addressed envelope for it to be returned. If necessary, pet owners can renew in person at the municipal building, 401 Chambers Bridge Road, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Exact change, check or credit (no American Express) are accepted.

The fees for 2023 are:

  • One year spayed/neutered animal:                   $10.00
  • One year non-spayed/neutered animal:           $13.00
  • Three year spayed/neutered animal:                $26.00
  • Three year non-spayed/neutered animal:          $35.00

There is an administrative charge of $1.00 per month for any dog or cat registered after Jan. 31 of each year.
