Brick’s youngsters were invited to participate in the township’s annual Fishing Derby last weekend at Lake Riviera Park.
While sometimes overlooked by Barnegat Bay, the Atlantic Ocean and the major rivers that flow through town, Brick’s Lake Riviera offers some calm freshwater fishing from shore. A few different species of bass, plus bluegill, crappie and perch can all be caught in the lake, located in the neighborhood that’s named for it off Brick Boulevard.
Mayor Lisa Crate, Council President Heather deJong and Councilman Vince Minichino attended the event and gave out awards to the winners:
|
- 1st place – Bodhi Hoblitzell
- 2nd place – Jackson Niciewski
- 3rd place – Emma Dluhos
- 4th place – Parker Jacob
A few photos of the event were published by the township:
