The investigation revealed that over time, beginning in March of 2022, Colbert forged and fraudulently passed 36 scripts for prescriptions at pharmacies in Toms River, Finelli said.
Colbert was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of heroin, intent to distribute crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, obstructing administration of law, possession of prescription legend drugs, obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud, forgery by writing, theft of movable property and practice of medicine by unlicensed person.
Colbert was processed at Brick Police Headquarters and released on a summons.
