Brick officials have awarded a contract to a construction firm that will renovate the infield areas of the softball portion of the Drum Point Sports Complex.
The township council last week voted unanimously to award a $39,975 contract to Advanced Athletic Services, of Allamuchy, N.J., to perform renovations of the infields of the four baseball diamonds at the sports complex, located off Drum Point Road. The company uses laser-guided grading equipment to build sports playing surfaces, including baseball and softball infields, to prevent flooding and refresh base paths, bases, pitchers’ mounds and other infield features with fresh dirt. The fields will also better handle drainage issues with improved grading.
The contract received two bids for the project, out of which Advanced Athletic Services was the lowest, said Councilwoman Andrea Zapcic.
