Brick school officials announced overnight that the district will be closed due to the snow storm affecting the region Friday.
“Due to inclement weather, and with the unpredictability and timing of this storm, Brick Schools will now be closed today, Friday, January 19, 2024,” the announcement said. “All inclement weather day school closings will be added to the 2023-2024 school year calendar.”
Additionally, temperatures are expected to dip to 17 degrees overnight Friday into Saturday and 14 degrees Saturday night into Sunday, prompting Ocean County to issue a “Code Blue” alert which opens warming shelters.

A Code Blue alert has been issued for Ocean County from through Tuesday, Jan. 23. A list of warming centers is available on the county website.
