Brick Township officials recently awarded a contract for the purchase of three large trucks for the Pulic Works Department.
The council, at its most recent meeting, awarded contracts for the purchase of a 2025 Peterbilt 528 roll-off truck, a 2025 Peterbilt patch truck for road maintenance, and Peterbilt 520 side-arm garbage pickup truck. All were purchased through the Sourcewell national cooperative, which allows government agencies to make major purchases at pre-discounted, bulk rates.
The roll-off truck will cost $218,019; the road maintenance truck will cost $270,055; the side-arm garbage truck will cost $394,515.

The council also awarded its regular multi-year contract for sign materials at the meeting. Brick Township is one of the few local municipalities large enough to run an in-house sign shop, which produces official road signs as well as informational signs at parks and other public locations.
The township awarded a $70,000 contract awarded between three bidders that specialize in different materials: Creative Visual Systems, of Branchburg; National Highway Products, of Millville, and Signarama, of Freehold.
The contract with the three firms will remain in place for two years.
