Man Shoots, Kills Self at Lakewood Gun Range

Lakewood police say a man shot and killed himself in an apparent suicide at a township gun range.

Police officers were called to the Shore Shot Pistol Range on Airport Road at 2:50 p.m. Monday for a man who had been shot, police said in a statement. Upon arrival, the officers found a 32-year-old Woodbridge man dead with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.



An investigation confirmed the wound was self-inflicted, police said. The man was not identified by name.

Monday’s shooting is the third of its kind at the range since September, when two people shot themselves in suicide attempts in a single week. One of those victims died, the other was flown to a hospital for treatment.
