Multiple sources have told Shorebeat that a criminal probe surrounding Brick school officials, including Superintendent Walter Uszenski, will result in charges that will be levied today.

The details are sketchy, but the sources said the case may produce multiple arrests. It has not been confirmed as to whether any arrests have been made or if any school officials are in police custody. The investigation apparently centered around some type of theft of funds.

Authorities were searching some school district offices as part of the case, one source said.

The Ocean County Corrections Department jail inmate search website is currently down, leaving the question open as to whether any arrests have been made.

Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, declined to comment. On its Facebook page, the prosecutor’s office said its detectives were at the Brick Township Board of Education office conducting an investigation into official misconduct.
