The developer of a planned 14-home community off Herbertsville and Winding River roads in Brick did not appear for a scheduled zoning board hearing on the matter this week.

The development, which would replace the shuttered Olde Riverside School and Camp, would consist of 14 single-family homes and a retention basin, plus landscaping along Herbertsville Road. The board ruled last year that the developer, 561 Herbertsville LLC, could proceed with the project despite an odd zoning layout from the 1970s that once permitted only multifamily development at the site.

Little is known about the developer. The company, 561 Herbertsville LLC, is registered to Tzvi Ciner, of Royal Oak, Mich., while the applicant listed on planning documents is identified as Larry Freimark, of Southfield, Mich. The developers’ attorney, John Paul Doyle, said at the initial hearing last year that his clients would not be present at hearings.
